All India Radio (Prasar Bharati) Recruitment 2022: Prasar Bharati invited applications for the post of News Editor or Reporter (Malayalam), Newsreader-cum-translator (Malayalam) purely on a casual assignment basis in the Regional News Unit of All India Radio, Thiruvananthapuram. The last date to apply for this post is 08th July 2022. The minimum age required for given posts is 21 years and the Person shall not be more than 50 years.

The application for the post of News Editor or Reader should reach the Head Office, All India Radio, Bhakthi Vilasom, Vazhuthacaud PO, Thiruvananthapuram – 695014, by post only, on or before 08th July 2022. Qualification for All India Radio Recruitment 2022

1. For News Editor / Reporter (Malayalam)

Essential Qualification

  • Graduate from a recognized university.
  • Degree OR Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism with a duration of at least one year from a recognized University/Institution OR 5-year experience in reporting/editing work in print/electronic media
  • Proficiency in the Malayalam language.
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications.

Desirable Qualification

  • Experience of a journalistic work in Radio/TV

2. For Newsreader-cum-Translator (Malayalam)

Essential Qualification

  • Graduate from a recognized university
  • Proficiency in the Malayalam language
  • Having a voice of good quality suited to broadcasting
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications
  • Must have Malayalam typing skill

Desirable Qualification

  • Experience of journalistic work in Radio or TV

The Selection Process for All India Radio Recruitment 2022

For News Editor / Reporter (Malayalam)

The Selection process is divided into two stages 1-Written test 2-Interview. Each test carries 100 marks. A Selection Committee will interview those who pass the written test to determine their general personality and suitability for radio reporting. Candidates who receive 50 or more in the interview will be recommended by the selection committee for empanelment, which will be approved by the principal director general.

For Newsreader-cum-Translator (Malayalam)

The Selection process is divided into two stages 1- Written test 2- Interview. Each test carries 100 marks. The written exam will aim to judge a candidate’s journalistic and professional aptitude as well as their familiarity with the relevant language (Malayalam). The written test will require a minimum score of 50 to pass. A voice test will be administered to candidates who scored 50 or more in the written exam to evaluate their voice quality, modulation, diction, pronunciation, and accent.
